The inspiration behind Lastra—meaning "slab" in Italian—originates from circular wooden slabs traditionally used for cheese-making molds in Italy. Maestro molder Stefano Roselli thoughtfully incorporated the details of overlapping twine from cheese molds into the design of every piece, from the foot to the rim. The subtle dark dusting along the edges hints at the ash used in cheese preservation and accentuates each item’s unique silhouette.

Signor Stefano Roselli, the master molder at a ceramics cooperative just outside Florence, is the creative force behind the Lastra collection.
