Our Story: A Journey of Love

The journey that led to the creation of Vietri began with a heartfelt connection to Italy. In 1983, when Susan, Frances, and their mother, Lee Gravely, embarked on their inaugural trip to Italy, they were instantly enchanted by its rich culture. While dining at the San Pietro Hotel in Positano, they encountered the hotel’s vibrant, handcrafted dinnerware, igniting a passion within them. The following day, they arranged a visit to a nearby factory in Vietri sul Mare, where they witnessed artisans skillfully painting and glazing pieces. Moved by their craftsmanship, the Gravely family returned home and brought back a diverse collection of nature-inspired ceramics, which would go on to become the cornerstone of Vietri’s brand: the Campagna dinnerware. Inspired by the vivid hues of the Amalfi Coast, every Campagna dish is meticulously hand-painted by talented artisans.
